Minnesota has made it easier than ever to become a contributor to political campaigns. With the MN Political Contribution Refund program, the Minnesota Department of Revenue will refund your political contribution up to $50 per individual or $100 per married couple for contributing to a Minnesota political party and/or a candidate for state office. This way there is no long term out of pocket expense for you, yet it can help the candidate out a lot! It’s easy to do and a good way to help your candidate with the costs of running an effective campaign. Of course, you are not limited to giving only $50 or $100. Candidates can accept contributions in whatever amount you can afford, as long as it is within state campaign finance laws. The state of Minnesota will only refund you $50 per individual or $100 per married couple, however.

Contributions can be made out to “Citizens for Sertich” and mailed to the following address: Citizens for Sertich PO Box 3, Chisholm, MN 55719. Please include your return address, and you will receive a receipt in the mail for the amount of your contribution, as well as the necessary form to mail in for your refund. In just a few weeks the Minnesota Department of Revenue will send you a refund check.
